Mac n Cheese & Sandwich Bites School Lunch

If you follow my school lunch posts, then you probably know how big of a hit sandwich bites, or sandwich squares are with my daughter. I pack them quite often, they are just perfect and bite sized, and I actually feel like kids are more likely to finish a sandwich when it's cut in this way. I use a FunBites cutter to make them.

So, in the thermos there was some Annie's Organic mac and ceese, then I packed the sandwich bites on heart food picks, and some strawberries. For the sandwich bites just pick whatever kind of bread and spreads you like, and assemble the sandwich, use the FunBites cutter and then slide the pieces onto food picks.

Spring School Lunch

I love how bright and sunny this lunch looks! Totally reminds me of Spring with the sun on the raisin box, and the yellow food picks with little chicks on them. Too cute, and sure to brighten up a child's day when they open up their lunch box.

In the lunch I packed:
- sandwich squares on the cute chick food picks. I make these on Sara Lee Honey Wheat Bread, lightly toasted, with some SunButter and chocolate hazelnut spread on it
- Earthbound Farm Organic Raisins
- Pears
- Trader Joe's Kettle Corn

All in her Bentology bento box.

Princess School Lunch

To make my daughter feel like a little princess I made her a lunch that had some princess aspects. A cute princess cloth napkin, and castle shaped sandwiches with little princess flags sticking out from the top.

Aside from the princess castle sandwiches I packed:
- strawberry and honey goat cheese skewers, you just put pieces of them on to a food pick in an alternating pattern like you're making a kabob
- peaches, with some cute animal food picks stuck in
- a Slim Snack with Annie's Organic Cheddar Bunny Crackers
- a pack of Shopkins fruit snacks

Picnic School Lunch

This lunch would make the perfect picnic lunch, it's got everything it needs to be delicious and nutritious! The fun cloth napkins also help to add to the picnic look.

As you can see in this lunch there was:
- strawberries
- a puzzle sandwich, which I made with Sara Lee Honey Wheat Bread that I had lightly toasted, SunButter, chocolate hazelnut spread, and a munchkin puzzle sandwich cutter
- a Babybel cheese
- a Slim Snack full of Annie's Organic Cheddar Bunny Crackers

Jimmy John's School Lunch

One day I packed my daughter a Jimmy John's sandwich in her lunch box, along with a banana that I wrote a message on, and some honey graham crackers. Lunch doesn't always have to be homemade as long as it's still healthy, feel free to pack in some yummy restaurant leftovers.

I used a food safe marker to write "I <3 U" on the banana. Perfect message for a young kiddo to be able to read, and make them smile.

Pizza & Sandwich Bento

This lunch combines two of my daughters favorites: sandwich squares, and little make your own mini pizzas.

I used my daughter's Bentology bento box for this lunch, but I took out one of the sections and put a pack of Shopkins fruit snacks there instead for a surprise treat.

Make Your Own Mini Pizzas:
Ingredients:
- Crackers, my daughter likes Ritz crackers for the mini pizzas
- Pepperoni
- Cheese, we use Imo's cheese for this, it's tastier and easier to manage than shredded cheese
- You could also add a small little dip container of pizza sauce if that is something your child would like, my daughter doesn't like sauce for these mini pizzas

I packed the pepperoni and cheese in a little reusable baking cup, and the crackers on the side in one of the bento box sections.

In the other bento box sections I have sandwich squares, and some peaches with little giraffe food picks stuck in them for added cuteness.

Sandwich Squares:
Ingredients:
- Bread, I like to use Sara Lee Honey Wheat and I lightly toast it first to make it easier to work with
- Spreads, I use both SunButter and chocolate hazelnut spread
- FunBites cutter  if you don't have one of these you can try and make your own squares using a knife

Owl Sandwich School Lunch

So I'll start off by saying I am not the most artistically talented, but I can still manage to make food fun  and at least slightly resemble what I'm going for, with the help of a few tools! For this lunch I wanted to make an owl sandwich for my little girl. I'll share the details below. I also had strawberries, blueberries, a Babybel cheese, and a bag of Annie's Organic Bernie's Farm Animal Cookies in the lunch box.

Owl Sandwich:

Ingredients:
- bread, I like to use Sara Lee Honey Wheat
- whatever spreads you would like, I used SunButter and chocolate hazelnut spread
- a food marker

I like to lightly toast the bread when I'm going to be working with spreads, and it also makes it easier to cut the bread into different shapes. For this owl sandwich I just used a knife to cut out some of the top, to make a head and ears shape for the owl. Once I had the sandwich all assembled and cut, I used a green food marker to draw on eyes and a beak. Simple as that! Making lunch cute and fun doesn't have to be about creating a masterpiece in the lunch box, just about making something that you know will bring happiness to your little one!
